Applying for Certification
According to 19 TAC 230 page 483:
Teachers assigned to Career Investigations and Career Connections must meet the following requirements:
- Teachers assigned to Career Investigations/Career Connections must hold a teacher certificate in any of the Career and Technical program areas, and shall participate in a Texas Education Agency approved two-hour workshop for beginning Career Investigation/Career Connections teachers prior to teaching the course.
- Teachers assigned to Career Investigations/Career Connections must also attend and participate in a Texas Education Agency sponsored Career and Technical Education Professional Development Conference prior to assignment.

Program of Applied Technology Training and Development (ATTD):
- This program offers certification coursework and is housed in the College of Education at the University of North Texas. This program offers Career and Technical certification in Health Science Technology Education, Marketing Education, and Trade & Industrial Education.
